After persistent pressure, she confessed that the Philipino was responsible. The victim’s sister reported the matter to the police at Area ‘B’ Command, Apapa, Lagos.   It is terrible what some men can do because of the inability to control themselves. Maybe, it shouldn’t be called a lack of control, but an intentional act done to spite their wives or the women in their lives.
  My ex- husband is a good example of the epitome of lack of control in men. Each time I think of his last escapades, l still wonder if it is possible for Femi not to have known that Amanda, the lady he met abroad is still the same childhood best friend whose photographs he had seen severally in my collections.
  Amanda and I did everything together while we were growing up. We went to the same primary school and the same University. We were even posted to the same state during youth service.  We had everything in common except for the men in our lives. In fact, we nearly liked the same men and it showed each time one of us brings home a guy.

  With regards to the title, no pun intended. I think Chinese men are cool… I guess. I don’t even know, but yeah… I mean no disrespect.
  Men. Please raise your hands if you’ve heard “Nigerian men are controlling, Nigerian men are too dry, Nigerian men don’t have swag, Nigerian men are too *****, Nigerian men are too this and that, and all that in between.” Ok hands down, cos I can’t see with all the hands in the air.
  I was having a conversation with some friends, both male and female, and somehow a story of a guy that did something to his wife came up, and before I knew what was happening it was full blown bakassi war against Nigerian men because of this one character. All I kept hearing was, “see that’s why I don’t like naija men… they do this, they do that. They treat American women better, they like oyimbo women, they beat their wives, they stole my chewing gum”…ok I made that one up.   Do You Have An Expiration Date?

  Recently I went to a get together – the usual Nigerian affair. A mingle of long weave, suggestive smiles and glances, primping girls and predatory males. I played the game of who’s slept with whom and who’s on the hunt again. Or better yet who’s NOT slept with whom – would probably take less time.  My demeanor was as usual noncommittal and slightly bored disguising my intense scrutiny.   Does The Size Of An Engagement Ring Matter?

  So a few days ago, there was this whole debate on twitter about how much a guy should spend on an engagement ring for his soon to be wife. Of course a conversation like that is always bound to get very interesting and lots of comments were made but one really stuck out to me.
  I’ll just give the context. If a man is proposing with a relatively “*****” ring then the woman wont accept. Yea I know… Who would think right? But what is ***** though? One of the things that flew around twitter that night was the engagement ring should be 3 times the man’s monthly salary. So it might be safe to assume that anything less than that is considered ***** right? So let’s say you bank about 4ooo dollars after tax, then a $4000 ring is considered ***** because you should actually buy a $12000 ring as per 3 times your monthly salary.
